Product Owner
Job Description
As a Product Owner working on new software projects, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of innovative software solutions.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our software products meet customer needs, align with business objectives, and are delivered on time and within budget.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of features and functionality.
This job position does not require a standard work schedule — we’re open to freelance as well. As long as you have a strong work ethic and deliver the necessary tasks, you can organise your work as you please.
About the project
Our customer is a leader in Romania for transportation solutions.
They will start from scratch a new mobile application along with companion web application.
Other roles in the team: frontend developer, backend developer, mobile developer, QA automation, UI/UX designer.
The Perfect Candidate
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
- Proficiency in JIRA or similar project management and Agile tools.
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner or similar role in a software development environment.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software products.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Business, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent written and speaking English skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Define Epics and User Stories: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize features and requirements. Create detailed user stories and epics in JIRA to guide development teams.
- JIRA Dashboards and Metrics: Set up and maintain JIRA dashboards to track progress, sprint activity, and key performance metrics. Use this data to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve team performance.
- Documentation Review: Review project documentation, specifications, and requirements to ensure they are complete and well-understood. Work closely with stakeholders to clarify and address any ambiguities or gaps.
- Scrum Master Role: Take on the role of a Scrum Master to facilitate Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles and stays on track.
- Functional Testing and Validation: Conduct functional testing to ensure that the software meets the defined requirements. Validate that the implemented features align with user stories and deliver value to customers.
- Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and manage project risks. Remove obstacles and blockers that may impede the team's progress. Keep stakeholders informed of any potential issues and collaborate on solutions.
- Business Refinement Sessions: Organize and lead regular refinement sessions with the development team to ensure that user stories and requirements are well-understood and ready for implementation. This includes grooming the backlog and maintaining a prioritized list of work.
